About Us

The Hill Country Fire Coalition is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to safeguarding our community from the devastating impacts of wildfires. Our mission is to build resilient communities by reducing wildfire risks and promoting safety through education, proactive measures, and active community involvement.

We strive to protect lives, property, and our natural and cultural resources by collaborating with private property owners and other stakeholders to implement effective strategies. By fostering strong partnerships and empowering residents, we aim to create fire-adapted landscapes that mitigate potential losses and enhance the likelihood of surviving a wildfire incident.

Guided by the Kendall County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), our efforts are focused on improving risk awareness, promoting safety, and ensuring that our community is prepared, safe, and resilient in the face of wildfire threats. Together, we work towards a future where every resident is equipped to face wildfire challenges with confidence and preparedness.

We also support complimentary nonprofit organizations, as allowed by law, to further our mission and extend our impact across the community.

"We believe that by understanding the risks posed by wildfires and working together as a community, we can learn to coexist with wildfire, protect our properties, and survive its impacts without the loss of life." -  Christie Wiley, Director, Hill Country Fire Coalition of Texas
